Combination skin

Combination skin requires both hydration and oil control. Try a gentle cleanser with a pH balance, a lightweight moisturiser, and a non-greasy sunscreen. Hydrating serums with hyaluronic acid help dry areas, and niacinamide helps control oil. Clay masks on the T-zone help absorb excess sebum.

Avoid those harsh cleansers, alcohol-based toners and overly greasy face creams that clog your pores. The wrong creams/cleansers can make areas with oiliness more greasy and dry areas drier. Look for natural, lightweight products.

Customised regimen suitable for your skin condition: light moisturiser for oily parts, more opulent creams for dry areas. Gentle exfoliation with fruit enzymes or AHAs maintains the skin’s balance. As for products designed for combination skin, which has both oily and dry parts, you’ll want to look for ingredients that promote a balance between oil production and hydration. You may want to look for salicylic acid to absorb excess oil, hyaluronic acid for deep hydration, and niacinamide to balance oil production and calm the skin.
